Frequently Asked Questions

I have questions - how can I get in touch?

We'd love to chat with you! You can reach out via email (Hello@StayOffMap.com) or phone (877-957-9360). We're happy to assist you however we can.

Where is Off Map located?

Off Map's address is 63401 8th Avenue, South Haven, Michigan. We are a 10 minute drive from downtown South Haven, and a 25 minute drive from Saugatuck.

What is glamping?

Do you love the outdoors, but don't want to sleep on the ground? If so - glamping might be for you. Glamping provides all the benefits of traditional rustic camping with some additional comforts.

Each of our tents is furnished with luxurious mattresses, high-quality linens, and charming decor. Our shared bathhouses provide cozy, clean places to shower each day. In short, at Off Map, you can enjoy nature while feeling pampered.

How many people can fit in each tent?

All of our tents can fit a maximum of three people. We have a limited number of cots which can be rented for $25 per night (pending availability). Cots are only available for children age 18 or younger. Contact us at Hello@StayOffMap.com if you're interested in a cot.

What’s the bathroom situation?

Each of our tents utilizes a shared bathroom and shower facility, located a quick walk from all of the suites. This building is cleaned daily and has enough private, locking bathrooms for our guests to enjoy comfortably. Note that each bathroom is a private room with a toilet, sink and shower, so you won't be sharing a large communal bathroom.

Can I park at my tent?

You can't drive up to the individual tents, however there is a central parking lot located in the middle of camp.  The tents are accessible via a foot path.  If you need any assistance getting your luggage to your tent just let one of our staff know and we'd be happy to bring your bags to your tent on a golf cart.

What precautions are you taking in light of COVID-19?

By definition, glamping is a good way to travel safely during the COVID-19 pandemic. Most of your time will be spent outdoors, and your tent is private to you and your traveling partners. Our cleaning regimen adheres to CDC guidelines, and common spaces and bathrooms are cleaned regularly to ensure a healthy, comfortable experience. You can read more about how we're making sure everyone stays safe and healthy here.

What should I bring?

We provide the amenities you would expect to find at a hotel - sheets, towels, toiletries, and more. We recommend dressing for the elements - while our tents have heaters, you may want to have warm clothes for late nights around the fire. We also recommend you bring a refillable water bottle.

Can I make a fire?

We have two large communal fire pits on property which are lit each night for our guests to enjoy. Note that there are quiet hours each night, to ensure a comfortable night of rest for all of our guests - your room walls are canvas, and sound travels far in the woods!

Can I bring my own tent?

Unfortunately, we do not allow our guests to bring extra tents. This is to ensure that every guest has the best possible experience, and each of our suites is spaced appropriately apart from other guests.

Where do I eat?

Each morning, we provide our guests with complimentary coffee and a light breakfast to start the day. While we do not have a restaurant on site, we do have a few grills for our guests to use that you are welcome to borrow. We ask that guests not bring their own grills.

If you would prefer to go out for meals, we are happy to recommend some of our favorite local eateries around South Haven and Saugatuck.

Can I bring my pet?

Absolutely - we love our four-legged friends, and can't wait to meet yours! While we of course never expect this to happen, please note that if a dog is being disruptive to other guests we may ask you to take your pet home. There is a pet fee of $25 per night to cover additional cleaning expenses. Additionally, you will be required to sign a pet waiver upon checking in.

Pet owners are responsible and liable for their animals' actions at all times, and release Off Map of any liability resulting from their animals being on property. We do not allow pets with a history of aggression to visit Off Map. Pets are to remain on-leash at all times, and cannot be left unattended on property. Pets are not allowed in our indoor common areas.

Are kids welcome?

Of course! While most of our suites feature a single king bed, we do offer a few tents with three twin beds, perfect for youngsters who are tagging along. Note that we do not have amenities found at some other campgrounds, like swimming pools or playgrounds. As such, you may want to bring games to keep your little ones entertained.

What time is check-in and check-out?

Check-in is at 3pm, and we ask that you check-out by 10am. We're happy to accommodate early check-in or late check-out if we can - just ask!

What if I need to cancel?

Our guests are required to pay for their stay at the time of booking. We understand that life happens - if you do need to cancel your trip, it is refundable as long as your check-in date is more than 30 days away (a small cancelation fee may apply).

Is there WiFi?

We have intentionally made Off Map WiFi-free - we want you to come and disconnect from the world, enjoying time outdoors with your friends and family.

We understand that emergencies happen - if you need WiFi connection while staying with us, let us know and our team can help you access our office internet connection.

Will I have electricity?

Our tents do not have electricity. We do have battery-powered fans, lanterns, and cell phone chargers that we put in each tent, but not full electrical hookups.

What if there is bad weather?

Off Map does not allow guests to cancel reservations if the weather is not to their liking - we provide battery powered fans to keep things cool and wood burning stoves for chilly nights, so our tents are quite comfortable! If there is severe weather forecasted that we deem to be dangerous, Off Map can cancel reservations at our sole discretion.
